Phonak & Unitron Hearing Aid SDS 5.0 RIC Receiver Wires

Phonak & Unitron have four Receiver Wire or RIC ranges

This range is:

SDS 5.0 connector xReceiver Phonak & Unitron SDS 5.0 Receiver Wires compatible with Phonak & Unitron hearing aids launched approx 2019 to September 2024. SDS 5.0 Receiver Wires have 3 pin connectors and use Cerustop Wax Guards.

The SDS 5.0 RIC Receiver Wires are fully interchangeable with SDS 4.0 RIC Receiver Wires. The SDS 5.0 RIC Receiver Wires, which use Cerustop wax guards, were introduced in response to customer feedback about difficulties with handling Cerushield Wax Guards used on the SDS 4.0. There is no audiological difference between the SDS 4.0 & SDS 5.0 and they use the same domes, so it is your choice which you use (while stock of 4.0 lasts) but you will need to also purchase Cerustop wax guards for use with SDS 5.0.

The other available ranges are:

SDS 6.0 connector SDS 6.9 Phonak & Unitron SDS 6.0 Receiver Wires compatible with the newest Phonak Infinio hearing aids launched approx September 2024 onwards. SDS 6.0 Receiver Wires have a flat connector and use Cerustop Wax Guards.

SDS 4.0 connector SDS 4.0Phonak & Unitron SDS 4.0 Receiver Wires compatible with Phonak & Unitron hearing aids launched approx 2019 to September 2024. SDS 4.0 Receiver Wires have 3 pin connectors and use Cerushield Wax Guards - available while stock lasts.

SDS 3.0 connector xReceiverPhonak & Unitron xReceiver Wires compatible with older Phonak & Unitron hearing aids launched pre 2019. xReceiver Wires have 2 pin connectors and use Cerustop Wax Guards.

SDS 6.0, 5.0 & 4.0 all use SDS 4.0 domes and the xReceivers use Smokey domes

Please note: The SDS4 and SDS 5 are interchangeable and audiologically the same, although SDS 4.0 use Cerushields and SDS 5.0 use Cerustops. The SDS 5.0 has a white rectangle on the body to differentiate between an SDS 4.0 and SDS 5.0. As of Jan 2025 Phonak are phasing out the SDS 4.0 Receivers.

Left side Receiver Wires have a blue shell and right side have a red shell. The power level and wire size/length are printed on the housing. So 3M on a red housing would indicate a right side size 3 Medium power unit.
